20 ?’s and Geek Girls

Standard

m3

Yesterday hubby and I took our daughter and two of her friends to the Matsuri Festival up in Phoenix. This is a Japanese spring festival with lots of cosplay and anime. The girls were super excited and spent most of the time stalking um finding people dressed in their favorite costumes and taking their pictures.

Hubby and I also had fun looking at the booths, and I ate the yummiest thing! Fried mochi! As someone who can’t eat gluten one of the things I miss are crunchy, greasy, fried foods. But a lovely food vendor fixed that. Mochi is a sweet rice paste and inside was gooey and yummy but the outside was crunchy and sweet and greasy. I should have taken a picture but I ate them too fast!

Anyway, the point of this post on the way home the girls started playing 20 Questions. Nothing unusual about that, except these are Geek Girls, so the questions go like this.

Spare Brides, Awesomeness, and Updates

Standard

The Decoy Bride stars David Tennant, Kelly Macdonald, and Alice Eve. A super sweet romantic comedy from BBC, as if anything with David Tennant would be bad.

Anyway, in a desperate and pathetic attempt to avoid the paparazzi, David Tennant gets a decoy bride and runs over to a tiny island where the biggest tourist attraction is a public toilet haunted by a cow. I laughed as they avoided photographers, crazy locals, and wildlife.

It is so sweet, I cried several times, and if the old couple dancing doesn’t touch your heart, then you might be a Cyber Man.

I got a lot done, but again no writing this week- well I wrote some blogs and a bit on my ghost romance, but I’m not back in the swing of things. I did go to the gym 4 times- 2 of them personal training torture sessions and I did yoga with the kids 5 times this past week. I need to find space and time for my writing- this is a huge priority!

Blogs of awesomeness!

Growing up if we want to reach our dreams we need to be mature, Kristen Lamb shows us that it’s not so painful.

Do we need the Happily Ever After? Kait Nolan explores the genius of Joss Whedon.

Push yourself, don’t give up, and accept the challenge. Words of advice from belly dancer Kamrah.

For Sherlock fans- this is hysterical and we need to find the farm!!!

Foreign Film Friday

Standard

For my fifth installment of Foreign Film I have a British TV show for you- I love British tele 🙂 so I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of these. Last weekend hubby and I watched “People Like Us” a mock documentary. In true BBC fashion the humour is dry and sarcastic. This is an adult show more because it would bore kids then there is anything inappropriate in the show. The whole series is on two disks- BBC is all about leaving viewers wanting more. Hubby and I laughed a lot, and enjoying pointing at the TV and saying- hey that’s so and so from… this show has a lot of great people in it, such as Bill Nighy, David Tennant, Jessica Hynes, and Sarah Alexander.

I couldn’t find a trailer, but here is the IMDB page http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0214362/
